Although TYPO3 versions 9 and higher are still supported and therefore do not necessarily need the upgrade to the latest version yet, timely preparation is always recommended. In addition, TYPO3 version 11 has some great new features and user-friendly functions that may encourage one to upgrade sooner rather than later.
In the following we summarise some of the most important features of TYPO3 version 11.
- The new multifactor authentication increases the level of security for the TYPO3 login. User name and password are extended by an additional factor, so that one can, for example, confirm one's identity and complete the login by using a "one time password" on a second device.
- The address bar of the browser now displays URLs of the opened backend modules. The specified URL can be copied, saved as a bookmark, used for reopening the TYPO3 backend in the desired element or shared with other editors.
- Automation of redirects with built-in expiry condition enables easy control of pages whose display is time-limited or linked to a certain number of page views.
- Improved accessibility: The navigation in the backend can now be used completely via keyboard. The interaction is described by different keyboard shortcuts.
- Extended download options: In the header of each database table there is now a download button through which the export can be carried out with desired settings in CSV or JSON format.
In the following we summarise some of the most important features of TYPO3 version 11.
In addition to mentioned innovations, there are many smaller new features that bring a better user experience for editors and administrators.
